Miss USA... Miss America...? Which, Who Where?

Ever wonder what is what and who is who? The Miss USA Pagent, now under the leadership of Donald Trump marks the first year where the particpants will be referred to as delegates vs. contestants. Each person really is acting as an official representative from their respective states, so it seems to be fitting that they come as a delegate. Although the Miss USA and Miss America Pageants are distinctly different and it is the Miss USA Pageant that sends the reigning Miss USA to the Miss Universe Pageant, both pageants were initially founded by the same swim wear company in Long Beach California way back in 1952 as a vehicle in which to promote their products. Under recent ownership changes, The Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe Pageants are now all under Donald Trump's leadership.

Who knows? Maybe some day we will see the equivalent in a Mr. USA Pagent event. The certainty as to what format will be followed would definitely be up for grabs. Should the talent and presentation format be structured on the more traditional Mr. USA / Mr. Universe format, or possibly ....?

Even a unique concept where the Arnold Swartzenegers and Hulk Hogans of the body building and wrestling realm, the Tim ???'s of Home Improvement image, The new age Mr. Moms, The Albert Einstien's and masterminds of Science and Invention, or even (shudder) the the average american guy join in to represent their district to vie for the "crown" to become the next "Miss"... "Mr" or "??...".

With being a futurist author/student, to some extent, it would only be appropriate to consider the real possibilities where ideas and visions many times become reality for another generation! But in the mean time and in keeping with the current affairs at hand, a little editorial dialog to spark the consideration and thoughts of all the readers and those who either participated in person, or viewed from afar, The Miss USA Pagent. (Stay tuned, startling events soon to be reported that may just surprise even the most open minded!)

Regardless of some possible confusion for some, one thing seems to be certain. The effect that the major pageants have on the delegates overwhelmingly comes through with the delegates displaying a great deal of resolve, poise and confidence (Be sure to check back for the results of an exclusive and very interesting interview with Ali Landry Reigning Miss USA 1996). But with all that resolve, poise and confidence, does this mean that "womanhood" is on the wane? Strikingly many of the 1997 Miss USA delegates professed strong beliefs, faith and respect to God. So, in keeping with that profession by many of the delegates, and with the consideration that "womanhood" might not only be alive and well but still admired and honored by many, the following quote seemed fitting.
